OFFSHORE Marlin have been providing heaps of action for all boats chasing them off Bermague. Live baits have been working on the bigger Kings around Montague Island with Rats and just legal fish taking Jigs and Squid Baits. Most FADs are still holding Dollies with live baits the way to go for the better fish. Bass Point has been rewarding Fisho’s with Kings to 90cm, big Bonito and Salmon using ganged Pillies, Halco Roosta Poppers and spinning white Squid Skirts behind Teaser floats. Fishing off Belambi & Coalcliff in 30-50m is still yielding good mixed bags of Snapper, Mowies, Flathead and Bonito on Hawksbury Prawns, Squid Strips, Pillies and Slimy Fillets. The broken reef just south of Jibbon Bombie and Mary’s Reef have both had Snapper to 42cm taking Prawns and Squid Strips. There’s also been a few drummer taken from the top end of Mary’s Reef. The Blue Hole off Cronulla has been a great spot for Flathead with bag limits not uncommon using Hawksbury Prawns, Pillies and Mullet Fillets.
BOTANY BAY – GEORGE’S RIVER The Breakwall at the mouth of the Cooks River has Bonito & Kings to 75cm. Have been giving land based Fisho’s some great fun on soft plastic & prawns. The last 2-3 hours of run up tide has seen good bags of Bream taking Hawksbury Prawns, Whitebait & Pilchard Cubes on the ocean side of the oil wharf. Molineux Point is still producing Kings to 85cm on whole or strips of Squid. Fishing the top of the tide in Quibray Bay and around Towra has been yielding good catches of Flathead on Plastics, Pillies and Mullet Strips.
From shore or boat, Silver beach is fishing well for Flathead and Whiting. Hawksbury Prawns, Pillies & Worms best baits. The Third Runway and Ramsgate Baths have both been good spots for Flathead, Bream and Whiting on Hawksbury Prawns, Marinated Chicken and Worms. The mouth of the Woronora River has been producing Whiting to 40cm. The last two hours of the run out tide best time and Worms best bait. There’s been mixed bags of Bream & Whiting caught just upstream of San Souci Park land based using Worms, Nippers & Hawksbury Prawns.
PORT HACKING There’s been Bream to 38cm taking both Lures & Bait around the moored boats out the front of Wally Wharf. The sand patches between the Balast Heap and South West Arms are producing Whiting to 40cm on Worms. Run out tide best. If you’re after Squid, Salmon Haul Bay and out the front of Oak Park are two good spots with good numbers coming from both.
FRESHWATER J. Spins, Slider Plastics and Spinner Baits are working well on the Bass at Glenbawn Dam.
NEPEAN RIVER Z-Man midnight oil 2.5in Grubz and Cicada style Lures have been accounting for Bass to 42cm around Menangle. Around Theresa Park, Spring Farm and Camden, the Bass fishing has been good with darker coloured hard body Lures working best. Below the Macquarie Bridge is another section of River producing good numbers of Bass on Buzz Baits and Jackall Chubbies. |
